If you’ve been a reader of mine during the last two years, you may already be familiar with my Typepad blog. It’s called On Copywriting. The actual URL is http://ryanhealy.typepad.com/copywriting/, which is kind of cumbersome to pass around when somebody asks what your web site is.
Back in 2003 or so, I had looked up ryanhealy.com to see if it was available. At that time, it was. I had a job, so I decided to wait to register it until I got my next paycheck. But when I went back to register the domain… it had already been registered!
I couldn’t believe it.
Turns out, there’s another Ryan Healy up in Seattle. Like me, he likes to write. And so he started a blog called “TV for a Head” on ryanhealy.com. Every once in a while, I’d drop in to see what Ryan was up to.
The last year, not much had been posted on his blog, so in November I asked him if he would sell the domain. After thinking about it some time, he graciously agreed. That’s why I’m moving my blogging activities to this site. It’s my own domain, the URL is easy to remember, and this blog is powered by Wordpress, so I have a lot more control over the look and functionality of the site. All good things for blogging.
One other big change. Instead of blogging mostly about copywriting, I will be expanding my subject matter. I will be blogging about business growth. Of course, since I’m still refining my strategy for the next year, you may see some changes over the next few weeks and months.
Nevertheless, if you’ve enjoyed reading my blog posts in the past, I’m sure you’ll continue to enjoy them in the future.
