Ben,

Thank you so much for your quite excellent questions. Let me give them the time, care, and attention they deserve.

1. Nobody actually licks a Tootsie Pop, for fear of hard-candy inflicted tongue cuts. It is actually more like sucking. And since everybody's saliva production and sucking technique varies, it is up to the individual to determine just how many "sucks" it takes to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop. Which means you won't find your personalized answer here. You'll have to get sucking and count for yourself.

2. As everybody knows, "woodchuck" is just another name for "groundhog," a.k.a. (Marmota monax), and therefore can't chuck wood. If such a rodent could chuck wood, it wouldn't matter; he'd chuck not a bit. Any groundhog with woodchucking skillz would just dig holes like every other common groundhog.

There ya go, dude. Since I've successfully answered your two biggest "life or death" questions, I expect to be showered with lavish praise and expensive gifts.

Respectfully,

Ryan

Ryan, I have only 2 questions.

Both have eluded me lo these many years.

And if you were to address these life-or-death questions in your blog, you would give me much peace of mind.

1. How many licks DOES it take to get to the tootsie roll center of a tootsie pop? I don't buy Mr. Owl's answer: 3. Because the bastard bit into it which throws the math and calculations off.

2. How much wood would a woodchuck chuck, if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

Gracias.

@Annie - The advantage of picking a niche to write about is that it gives you that focus you need. But even then I still like to know what my readers are interested in.

One of the reasons I'm a freelancer is I get to explore and write about a lot of different subjects. I love that!

Ryan -

I often have that problem too. There are so many ideas in my head and written down on scraps of paper, that I have no idea where to go or what to focus on.

For me, it seems to be because I have such wide and varied interests. It would be bore me to pick just one niche to concentrate on.
