The Patriots Just Proved My Point

by Ryan M. Healy on February 4, 2008

Did you watch the Superbowl last night?

Talk about a nail-biter all the way to the bitter end. Bitter, that is, for the Patriots.

If you’ll recall, I wrote a post last week about success and failure, and how it’s nice to be #2 because you still have room to advance.

Well, the Patriots just proved my point: Nothing fails like success.

Just how confident were the Patriots in their impending victory? Here’s an excerpt from a New York Times article:

Last week, the Giants heard reports of the Patriots’ attempts to secure rights to “19-0” (already trademarked, as it turned out), of a book planned to hit the presses immediately after a New England triumph, and of plans for a victory parade in Boston.

Perhaps the Patriots were a little bit too confident.

In case you missed it, you can read my original post here…
