John “Angel” Anghelache and I have just released yet another complimentary training video. And this one is all about setting copywriting fees and finally getting paid what you’re worth.
When you watch this video, you’ll learn:
- A Simple Formula for Determining What You’re Worth.
- 3 Easy Ways to Charge Fees.
- How to Increase Your Fees Fast.
- Beyond Fees — How to Double or Triple Your Income in 12 Months.
- 4 Rules for Commission-Based Copywriting.
This 18-minute training video is 100% FREE when you sign-up here:

Will we try to sell you something after you opt-in?
Of course.
John and I are getting ready to release a coaching program for freelance copywriters later this month.
The free training videos we’re releasing are our way of giving back to our readers and subscribers while at the same time getting freelance copywriters to raise their hands and say, “I’m interested.”
Now, the coaching program will not be for everybody. And the number of students we will accept is limited.
So if it turns out you ARE interested (and it’s totally okay if you’re not), then you’ll want to stick with us for just a little while longer. We plan to release more information about the coaching program in a week or so.
In the mean time, I strongly encourage you to watch training Video #4: How to Raise Your Copywriting Fees & Finally Get Paid What You’re Worth.
Why?
Because this video — along with all of the others — provides real, practical value that you can implement starting today.
Just yesterday evening, I received this email from Matt Hegedus. He writes:

As you can see, even experienced copywriters are getting a lot of value and insight from these free training videos. And I think you will, too.
You can get instant access to “The Copywriting Fee Video,” plus all the others, when you sign-up here:

Ryan,
Once again - great video.
Although most of what you said “seems” like common sense, the majority of people never really think about it and never do the techniques you talked about.
I liked the formula you gave for helping us realize how much we need to make per day - very nice!

@Jeremy - Thanks for the compliment. Glad you liked the formula. It’s an easy way of determining whether a project is worth your time or not.
Ryan,
Is there any chance you can send me the URL’s to the video’s? I’ve already watched all 4 but don’t have the e-mails that had the links and I want to watch 2 of them over again.
If you can do this just send me an e-mail to Jeremy @ controlbeatingcopy.com
Thanks!
Jeremy
@Jeremy - I included a list of all the video tutorials in the P.S. of the email I sent this morning titled “Video #5: The Copywriter’s Lifestyle.” Please let me know if I can help you with anything else!
Awesome - I’m watching it now.
Thanks again for putting up these video’s - I’ve already implemented your suggestions in video 2.
One question about that though…
I spent a whole lot of time trying to find numbers, names, etc.
How much of a difference do you think it’d make if I just wrote the letters with “ATTENTION: Marketing Director” on it the envelope instead of finding the specific person?
I know it’s a little more personal…but it takes so long I’m not sure it’s worth the extra time.
I could probably find 5 addresses by the time I find 1 address with a name…
I could see hiring someone to do it, but at this point I don’t have the money to do that (although my sister agreed to do it in the future).
Think I should just send it to the marketing director instead of the specific person?

P.S. - None of the libraries in my area have the SRDS, but I found one with the The Standard periodical directory. Would that work at least as a starting point? It says it has mailing lists…
Ryan-
Just watched video 2 and 3. WOW. John held nothing back. I’m excited to try this. I’ve been lucky to have a steady stream of clients since I started, but I’d be an idiot not to implement this.
Now that I’m a full-time freelancer (and the sole breadwinner of my growing family) I can’t trust my career to luck.
Thanks for yoru generosity guys. I’m looking forward to watching all the videos.
To Jeremy:
No sure why you’re having such a hard time finding
numbers and names… but… here are a couple of
suggestions.
First, real companies always include their offline address and other contact info. Usually, they have a link that says “Contact Us”. Or something like that.
Then, simply call them and ask for the owner’s name or marketing director.
So you might be wasting time going after people who hide behind the Internet veil.
What I showed you in the video is what I do. Yes, it takes more time… but… it’s more effective. Take the time to do this right.
The Standard Periodical Directory is not the SRDS. Find a library near by that has one and go there. I once traveled 2-1/2 hours to Indianapolis to get one piece of information that helped me make over $30,000. The point is, it’s worth doing whatever you must to get your hands on the SRDS.
You’ll only need to do this once.
If you “shortcut” the process in the video you will not get the best results.
You’ve been forewarned…
You might also want to consider providing MP3 downloads of the videos. It would be very useful to be able to listen to them in the car, etc.
Looking forward to more information about your coaching program. I’ve worked as an editor, marketing writer, and technical writer, but have had problems making the leap to copywriter…
Great speaking voice. Such a sweet relief from the fast, gobbledey gook from so many. Sometimes one wonders, wha’ they speak? Great videos, and thank you for helping us out. Blessings.
